Public Meeting – Thursday, June 27, 2019 @ 7:00pm

The HOA Board will be having its first public meeting of the year on June 27, 2019 at 7:00pm. The meeting will be held at the John Torok Community Center on Massillon Road (See Below). All residents are encouraged to attend. The HOA Board will be providing a financial update and a review of old/new business…including the restriction amendments addressing rental properties and the homeowners responsibilities for maintaining the trees planted alongside all roads.

2019 Yard/Garage Sale – May 10-11 8:00am-4:00pm

We will once again be having a neighborhood yard/garage sale, on the same days as Meadow Wood and several other large allotments throughout Green. This year’s dates will be Friday, May 10th and Saturday, May 11th from 8:00am-4:00pm.

Let us know if you will be participating, so we can get you a balloon to mark your home.

As a safety message, even if you’re not planning to participate, please be aware of the increased traffic and people walking on/across the streets those days.

Coyote Sightings…

There have been several reports of coyote activity in and around Spring Hill. For new residents, this is common and expected with the amount of undeveloped land still adjacent to the development.

To let coyotes be wild while keeping yourself and pets safe, please follow these pointers:

  • Never feed coyotes—it is illegal to feed coyotes in most places. Feeding endangers your family and neighbors as it lures coyotes into neighborhoods.
  • Keep unattended cats and dogs indoors or in completely enclosed runs, especially at night, and do not assume that a fence will keep a coyote out of your back yard.
  • Accompany your leashed pet outside. Make sure you turn on lights if it is dark to check your back yard for unexpected wildlife.
  • Keep dogs on short leashes while walking outside; the Division of Wildlife recommends a leash no longer than 6 feet.
  • Leave noisemakers on hand to scare away coyotes that may enter your yard, such as whistles and horns.
  • Don’t run away or turn your back on a coyote.
  • Do not allow a coyote to get in between you and your pet or child—keep children close to you.
  • Yell, clap hands, blow a whistle and try to make yourself look larger if you have a close encounter with a coyote.

Resident Meeting & Election of Officers

The HOA Board currently has one open position to be filled at the upcoming meeting on November 13th at 7:00pm; the meeting will be held at the John Torok Community Center. The Board meets approximately once/month to review open issues, plan/distribute assessments, etc. In addition, there are two public resident meetings per year that all HOA Board members attend.

If interested, please submit your self-nomination, or that of a neighbor, via the Contact HOA Board link at the top of the website. If you have any additional questions about the position and/or time commitments, please send a message to the HOA Board via the website.

Street Signs & Mailboxes…

Starting next week, there will be a crew around the development resetting, straightening and painting the street signs located at the intersections throughout Spring Hill. This has been something the HOA Board has wanted to do for a while, and we finally received a contact from DeHoff Development that does this work for all of their projects. This work is not expected to take long to complete, but please be aware while driving through the neighborhood.

On a similar note, the HOA Board will also be receiving quotes to update/replace ALL mailboxes throughout Spring Hill. As the development is getting older, there are many mailbox posts and boxes in a state of disrepair – primarily due to the materials used during the original construction. The quotes will include an all vinyl construction – post and mailbox – that will be 100% maintenance free. We’ll be staying with the all white design for all phases…Additional updates on the plans and timing will be distributed to residents as they are finalized.
